ISTANBUL - The Mothers for Peace, who staged a protest in front of the British, Israeli, American and Syrian consulates against the attacks in Rojava, stated that new conspiracies were afoot against the Kurds, saying, “They have plans again; they are committing massacres against the Kurds again. They want to wipe out the Kurds. We will never accept this. Either an honourable life or an honourable death.”
Raising their voices against the attacks in Rojava and the policies targeting the Kurdish people, the Istanbul Mothers for Peace Initiative is taking their determination for peace against war to the streets. The mothers will protest the war in front of different consulates for four days to make their demands known to the world public. They will conclude their actions by going to the British, Israeli, American and finally Syrian consulates. The mothers staged a powerful protest in front of the British Consulate yesterday. Their next stops will be the Israeli, American and Syrian consulates. Peace Mother Rewşan Döner spoke about their actions.
A new conspiracy against the Kurds
Condemning the attacks in Rojava, Rewşan Döner said that without peace in the Middle East, ‘there will be no peace anywhere.’ Expressing that they are fighting for peace, Rewşan Döner said that peace cannot be achieved through war and conflict. Referring to the international conspiracy of 15 February, Rewşan Döner said, "Those who orchestrated the conspiracy back then are planning another major conspiracy today. The conspiracy was carried out in 1999 with the collaboration of Britain, America and Israel. Today, they are plotting a new conspiracy against the Kurdish people, and they are doing so through massacres. Despite the ceasefire declared in Syria, the villages of Kobanê are still being bombed. In Rojava, massacres against Kurds are being carried out under the barbarism of ISIS-HTŞ. The bodies of young women are being thrown from buildings. As if that were not enough, the bodies of women who have lost their lives are being tortured and mutilated; their braids are being cut off and displayed like medals of honour. Once again, ISIS barbarians are restricting basic needs. Due to water, electricity and fuel shortages, five children from Kobanê froze to death. Imperialist states are committing massacres against the Kurdish people."
‘Either an honourable life or an honourable death’
Rewşan Döner, who stated that they defend an equal, free and peaceful life, concluded by saying: “We accept an honourable death until our last breath, but we do not accept slavery. It will be either an honourable life or an honourable death. Withdraw your hands from Rojava immediately. Turkey and Colani are carrying out this massacre together. They are acting in collaboration. The Kurdish people will not accept this massacre or its perpetrators.”
