Women are not protected, perpetrators are encouraged. While massacres of women continue systematically in Turkey and Kurdistan, complaints are ignored and protection orders are not implemented. The sexist rhetoric of the government, the negligence of the military or police and the impunity policy of the judiciary make the murder of women commonplace. Women are most often murdered in their homes, by those closest to them. Despite all this darkness, women do not give up their right to life and their struggle; they raise their voices for justice and equality stronger every day.
