Approximately 3,500 signatures were collected for the campaign, and 150 signatures representing political parties were sent to the UN.

The letter was delivered to senior UN agencies and officials, primarily UN Secretary-General António Guterres. These included the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Office of the Director-General of the UN Office at Geneva, the UN Women Geneva Office, and the UN Syria Desk.
The letter called for the recognition of Rojava's political status, the lifting of the siege on Kobanê, and the protection of women's gains in Syria. In a statement issued by the Union, it was emphasized that the letter was not only a civil society initiative but was also prepared with the support of Kurdish political parties and numerous institutions. The letter stated that the national and political rights of the Kurdish people must be constitutionally guaranteed in the ongoing political solution processes in Syria. It emphasized that the international recognition of Rojava's political status is essential for a lasting solution.
Emphasis on the siege of Kobanê
The letter also demanded the immediate lifting of the siege on Kobanê and its surroundings. It stated that civilians must be protected, humanitarian aid corridors must be opened, and the UN must take urgent action within the framework of international humanitarian law.
Furthermore, it called for the prevention of attempts to change the demographic structure in Kurdish regions and the protection of human rights. The National Union of Kurdish Women stated that constitutional guarantees for the political, cultural, and national rights of the Kurdish people are a fundamental condition for lasting peace.
