18 women murdered in South Kurdistan in 7 months 2025-09-04 16:19:32   NEWS CENTER - In South Kurdistan, 3 women were murdered and 5 women died under suspicious circumstances in just one month. At least 18 women were recorded as murdered in the first seven months of the year.    According to Rojnews data, in August alone, 3 women were murdered by men in South Kurdistan, while 5 women died under suspicious circumstances. The center of violence against women was the murders and suspicious deaths of women in the cities of Silêmanî (Suleimaniya), Ranya, Hewlêr, Çarqurne, Dukan, and Zaxo. Among those murdered was lecturer Gizing Kamil Mecîd.   The toll for the first seven months of the year in the region is heavy: 18 women were murdered, 12 women died under suspicious circumstances, 5 women were injured, and 2 women were driven to suicide.   In addition, 4 female teachers and activists in Silêmanî were subjected to violence by security forces.
